2025 Summer Immersion — 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training
June 27th - August 30th
This foundational training is ideal for serious students of yoga wishing to profoundly deepen their practice and aspiring teachers alike. Upon completion of this course you will meet the requirements for Yoga Alliance 200 hr. Certification.
We will share 8 weekends together devoted to developing our personal yoga practice as well as learning to share yoga with others.
Whether you want to teach yoga skillfully or simply deepen your practice, this course is greatly transformational .
Our program is rooted in the lineage of Krishnamacharya, blending the Vinyasa flow, internal form, and intelligent progression found in the Ashtanga system, the precise alignment instructions and supported poses of the Iyengar system, and the modifications to the individual that Desikachar emphasized.
We will focus on intelligently sequencing a flow based class, practicing with alignment to protect your body and open your subtle body, and learning philosophy to deepen our yoga journey

About the Program
Our program is rooted in the lineage of Krishnamacharya, blending the Vinyasa flow, internal form, and intelligent progression found in the Ashtanga system, the precise alignment instructions and supported poses of the Iyengar system, and the modifications to the individual that Desikachar emphasized.
We will focus on:
- The Theory & Practice of Yoga (intensive asana, philosophy, pranayama and meditation study)
- Therapeutic Applications (learn to teach alignment based yoga as you gain a strong understanding of anatomy & physiology as applied to yoga asana.
- Art of Teaching (gain the confidence and tools to be an effective teacher using voice, body language, gentle assists, & the art of sequencing, as you practice teaching.
- Yoga Philosophy, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, The Bhagavad Gita, The Upanishads, Hatha Yoga Pradipika & Comparative study of Buddha's Science.
We are very proud of our long-time training program, and it is greatly respected in the Portland community. We have placed teachers at all the major studios including People's Yoga, Yoga Pearl, Yoga Shala, Yoga on Yamhill, Mandala, Santosha, Sellwood Yoga, Imagine Yoga Studio, Yoga Bhoga, and of course many of our Yoga Space staff have taken both our 200 and 300plus (500 hr) programs.
Tuition: $2000 (Includes books and unlimited yoga pass at studio).

Training Staff
Michele Loew is the owner of The Yoga Space and is an international yoga teacher & practitioner of Hatha & Tibetan Yogas.
She is also the founding director of the Vajra Yoga School of Comparative Buddhist & Indic Yogic studies she co-teaches with Professor Robert A.F. Thurman for Tibet House US.
Her forthcoming book, co-authored with H. E. Kalu Rinpoche, will be released on August 5, 2025
She has taught, practiced, & studied avidly since 1998, and is known for her ability to see each student and address their individual needs both therapeutically and energetically. She is a master at hands on assists, alignment, and greatly enjoys teaching spirituality and philosophy that provides a path to happiness for all.
Michele teaches regular classes and 200 & 500 YA trainings in Yoga & Yoga Nidra in Portland & New York, as well as retreats and workshops internationally.
Ian LeMasters has curated out online Anatomy course and will be in-person for a few weekends of this year's course as he returns to Portland on Summer break from his Medical school studies. We are gifted to study his brilliant anatomy program in-person & online, which includes interactive quizzes and videos created by Ian.
Ian discovered the practice of Yoga in 2011 and taught for The Yoga Space for 10 years before relocating to the Bay Area for medical school. He is an honored yogi emeritus, beloved on the Yoga Space staff.
Schedule Overview
This training program will occur over 8 weekends, from June 27 - August 30th, 2025.
Fridays from 6:00pm - 8:30pm
Saturdays from 11:00am - 1:30pm, 2:30pm - 5:30pm
Sundays from 9:00am - 10:30am, 11:00am - 1:30pm, 2:30pm - 5:30pm
All sessions will take place at the NW studio. The first weekend of the training will be a shorter orientation weekend to meet everyone, receive books, syllabus, guidelines and practice. All materials are recorded and can be studied and replayed if a session is missed live.
Unlimited yoga classes at The Yoga Space and required books are included in the tuition.
